The Lego Spongebob Squarepants series is one of the latest ranges in the Lego universe, it is based on the Nickleodeon TV series Spongebob Squarepants and was first released in 2006 and is still being produced today. Each set in the series is based around the fictional universe of Bikini Bottom and Spongebob and his friends adventures there. The theme is especially interesting as a lot of the characters and buildings are unique in character and design and there is not much use elsewhere in other lego sets for a large yellow square body in underpants or a big pink starfish.

There are a lot of the sets in this range available on Ebay, both new and used and they can be at extremely reasonable prices, Ebay also gives you the ability to find parts of these sets just in case you only need to replace a few items. The Krusty Krab set was released in August 2006 and contains the Krusty Krab which is the main restaurant in Bikini Bottom, also included are four minifigures of SpongeBob, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and Plankton. This set contains 295 pieces.

You can flip krabby patties down at the Krusty Krab with SpongeBob and get shouted at by Mr Krabs. The Krusty Krab comes complete with grill and cash register. You can push down on the lever to flip the Krabby Patties and let SpongeBob know there's an order up. When it's time for closing, help SpongeBob clean up by tossing the trash in the dumpster. Then, place the money in the safe and be sure to hide the Krabby Patty secret formula so Plankton doesn't find it. It's just another day at Bikini Bottom's premier fast food restaurant.

This is a truly wonderful set and a great way to start recreating Bikini Bottom.

The Build-A-Bob set was released in 2006 and features a large LEGO model of Spongebob with lots of interactive components. This set contains an impressive 445 pieces.

From behind you get to look into one view of SpongeBob's "brain" which has Plankton controlling him. The Bikini Bottom Express set was released in January 2008 and features a model of the Bus from the TV Series along with a ticket machine, also included are three minifigures of Spongebob, Patrick and the Bus Driver. This set contains 210 pieces.

Interestingly in this set all of the minifigures have different facial expressions than their normal faces from the other SpongeBob Lego sets.

This set is very similar to set 3825 although there are slight differences, for instance in set No. 3825 the Krusty Krab features details like Mr. Krabs safe, money, working doors and more. However if you already have set 3825 you may well want to give this one a miss unless you want to collect all the sets.

The Good Neighbors at Bikini Bottom set was released in 2009 and features Spongebob's house and Patrick's boat car, also included in this set are four minifigures of SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and Gary. This set contains 425 pieces.
