Buy Lego Pirates Ships

Lego Pirates was a Lego theme originally released back in 1989 and which ran through until 1997. Included in these sets were lots of highly detailed models of Pirate Ships and Galleons. The theme itself focused on the classic idea of Caribbean pirates that were pitted against soldiers of colonial empires and would occasionally encounter indigenous people, very much in the vein of Pirates of the Caribbean. After a long layoff from 1997 the theme was reintroduced in 2009, combining the established look of the original sets with recent LEGO elements and building styles.

This hub will concentrate on information about the larger Lego Pirates sets of the ships, boats and galleons of the Pirates and their adversaries. There are quite a few Lego Pirates sets that can be ordered through Amazon and through Ebay and there are now lots of the sets in this range available on Ebay, both new and lightly used and they are at extremely reasonable prices.

The Imperial Flagship set was released in 2010 and includes a three-masted sailing ship of the Imperial faction from the Pirates theme along with 9 minifigures of the Admiral, the Admiral's daughter, Captain Brickbeard in shackles, the ship’s cook, a lieutenant, and 4 Imperial Guards. The set contains a whopping 1664 pieces. 

The Imperial Flagships main hull contains 4 firing cannons, ammunition crates, muskets, torches, cannonballs, prison with a rat, saw shark minifigurehead, a moving rudder and a fully-equipped ship's kitchen with fish, turkey legs and a carrot. You can raise and lower the working anchor and open the front deck's working doors to play inside. Also you can ppen the back house deck's doors to reveal the captain's chambers complete with a map, poison bottle, organ and even a treasure chest filled with jewels and gold it also has 6 opening windows, a telescope and sextant as well as 3 deck lanterns.

The Black Seas Barracuda set was one of the first Lego Pirates sets released in 1989 and includes a brig with two square-rigged masts, along with 8 minifigures of Captain Redbeard and 7 Pirate minifigures. The set contains a huge 865 pieces. 

The Black Seas Barracuda looks like a typical brig with two square-rigged masts. Although it has a gaff and a boom on the aftmost mast, there is no spinaker sail. The ship is armed with four cannons, two on each side. There are also four cargo bays, each covered with a hatch. The stern castle houses the captain's quarters which can be accessed by folding down the wall at the stern.

The Renegade Runner set was released in 1993 and includes a sleek one-masted pirate ship, along with 4 Pirate minifigures. The set contains 171 pieces. 

The Renegade Runnner is armed with a cannon that is mounted on a 4x4 turntable in the centre. This ship doesn't have a steering wheel and is a fore-and-aft rigged ship since it doesn't have square rigs. The striped gaff mainsail has a skull and crossbones pattern on it.

The Red Beard Runner set was released in 1996 and then re-released in 2001 with a Series number of 6290. The sets include a two-masted pirate ship with a dinghy, along with 7 Pirate minifigures including Captain Redbeard and 6 of his Pirates. The set contains 698 pieces.

The Imperial Armada Flagship set was released in 1996 and includes a two-masted ship from the Imperial Fleet, along with 3 Imperial Guard minifigures. The set contains 284 pieces. 

This impressive member of the Imperial Armada comes complete with Blue and White striped sails emblazoned with the Imperial Coat of Arms. The mission of the Imperial Armada is to protect the royal gold.

This Imperial Flagship set was released in 1992 and includes a one-masted sailing ship along with 4 minifigures of 3 Imperial Guards and one Pirate prisoner. The set contains 317 pieces. 

The Imperial Flagship has one single mast with a square-rigged mainsail and a gaff sail, and also has a single jib bent onto the forestay. It is armed with just two cannons that can be allocated to the four cannon ports, there are two on each side. The aftcastle houses a mechanism that allows to operate the rudder by turning the steering wheel.

The set also includes a treasure chest.
